Moving is both an incredibly exciting and stressful time in life, but it can all be made easier with excellent organisation. If you’re struggling to get it together, whether you’re moving home or office, check out these top tips:
Colour coding
Although most people try and organise their boxes by hastily scribbling kitchen or lounge onto the top, colour coding is much more effective. You’ll be able to quickly see where boxes need to go from a distance and also offer you the option of having multiple levels of organisation. If yellow is for the kitchen, maybe use an extra orange tab to flag up those display crystal glasses that need to be handled with care.
Don’t pack your toothbrush
It’s easy to pack up absolutely everything into boxes, but you need to remember there are things you should keep with you in a bag. Money, a change of clothes and toiletries are all handy to set aside. After all, you probably won’t have time to unpack everything on your first day and don’t want to be scrambling for these necessities when you really need them.
Donate unwanted items before moving day
Getting rid of surplus furniture or and items is a great idea, but make sure you have a list of these items and shift them well before moving day. The last thing you want to happen is to end up with things you don’t want in the new house because you didn’t have time to get rid of them. This not only takes extra time but will waste money too.
